Am 24. März findet der erste Music & Poetry Basket des heurigen Jahres im Wiener Brick 5, statt!
Erstmals zu Gast in Österreich wird BREIS, Spoken Word Künstler und MC mit nigerianischen Wurzeln und Lebensmittelpunkt London, uns feinste Worte servieren und sein Buch “Brilliant Rappers Educate Intelligent Students” vorstellen. Passend dazu wird Wortakrobatin Yasmo MC & DJ BCS die Musik ihres aktuellen Albums “Keep it realistisch” präsentieren. Abgerundet wird dieser schöne Abend mit den feinsten Funk & Soul Tunes von dem wohl charmantesten Resident DJ Wiens Mr. Funky P.

24.03. | Free Poetry Workshop mit BREIS (Nig/Uk)
Gemeinsam mit jugendinwien veranstaltet der Verein Music & Poetry Basket am 24. März von 13:00 – 18:00 einen Poetry Workshop mit MC und Spoken Word Artist BREIS ; für alle im Alter von 13 – 22 Jahren. In diesen Workshop zeigt und erarbeitet er Techniken zu kreativem Wortspiel, Schreiben und Vortragen. All that in English, go for it! HIER gehts zur Anmeldung und Info.
BREIS (ausgesprochen: breeze) ist Spoken Word Künstler / MC und in der Londoner Szene schon längst kein unbeschriebenes Blatt mehr. Er rappt in English, aber auch Yoruba und Pidgin English, nachdem er in Lagos und London aufgewachsen ist.
Mit seiner Organisation STUDENT OF LIFE setzt er sich im Bereich Jugendarbeit an Schulen und in Jugendvereinen ein, und hat nun auch eine quasi “Wortspiel-Anleitung” namens “Brilliant Rappers Educate Intelligent Students” veröffentlicht.

Dies ist die spannende Geschichte der Pharaonin Naima Lea, die über Oberägyptens herrscht und ihr Land vor den üblen Machenschaften ihres Widersachers bewahren will. Der Pharao Unterägyptens versucht mit allen Mitteln, Naimas Herrschaftsgebiet an sich zu reissen und schmiedet gemeinsam mit dem gesichtslosen Magiermeister dunkle Pläne. Wird es ihm gelingen, Naimas Land zu erobern?
